Guan Gong, one of the legendary founders of the Shu Han Dynasty in China, was a general who lived almost 2000 years ago. He was a well known general who conquered the South West of China. He was revered for his bravery and loyalty, and became a diety because of his successes. He is worshiped as a bodhdisattva in Buddhism, and is important to Chinese Folk Religion, Taoism and Confucianism. He is popularly used to ward off evil spirits and for protection.
This statue is 14 inches tall and 6 inches across the base. An excellent conversation piece, and a great symbol of protection.
